Every year carnival is always held in this city exactly in August. It is celebrated for Indonesia Independence Day. When I had just moved to Prabumulih from my hometown, Palembang, it has held by the citizen here. However, I heard from my wife, carnival wasn't held in 1997. It caused of monetery crisis. Prabumulih government was scare if the participants didn't have cost.
This carnival followed by students of all Junior and Senior High Schools, goverment and public society in Prabumulih. They usually wear traditional clothes of provinces in Indonesia or creative clothes as Harry Potter's cloth, cloth from wasted newspaper, etc.
It's so interesting and increadible, people as watchers stand at side of each main street where the carnival groups pass. they walk about three km.
If you want to see it, you can come to Prabumulih before August 18 each year. Since, it's usually done August 18.
carnival is very good, i wish carnival in other years can more be happy.
sometime i'm watching carnival with my family.
i wish in carnival nothing blow up, because can make people scare or make heart attacked.
